The game offers unique maps to play and test your strategy skills. You will get the vibes of that particular country with these unique maps.
However, we found that some maps were better in the original than in the definitive edition. For example, the New England map in the original game (2005) is more beautiful, vibrant with England’s Autumn theme, while in the definitive edition, there are no autumn vibes. The tree resources are also less on the New England (DE) map.

Age of Empires 3 DE continues to provide unique 16 civilizations around the world. The civilization includes British, Deutch, French, Germans, Ottomans, Portuguese, Russians, Spanish, Swedes, Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Aztecs, Haudenosaunee, Lakota, Inca.
Each civilization has its own benefits, powers, unique units, and cards. So while playing, you must know the advantages of that particular civilization.
For example, India has sacred fields where units get healed, Inca priestess can convert enemy units (WoLoLo!), Indians don’t kill sheep/buffalo for food, Ottomans produce settlers for free, Swedes get cheap mercenaries, British get free workers from the houses built. This uniqueness makes the game more enjoyable.

You should learn and set the Hotkeys for better gameplay. Hotkeys will save your time and you will be able to take quick actions while playing the game. If you are an old player of Age of Empires III then you can use the default interface, hotkeys. This will be easier for you to play.
Age of Empires 3 does not need special buildings like Age Of Empires 1 & 2 to store resources. Villagers gather resources directly and don’t need to run and put them into Town Center. This saves so much time and it’s easy to manage settlers.
There is a Home City Cards system. You can build a deck and send shipments to Town Center with multiple cards through different 5 ages. You can build trading posts on the trade routes to get extra experience points or resources.
Currently, Age of Empires III Definitive Edition has so many bugs that need to be fixed as soon as possible. We tested the game on a Dell Win 10 PC, i7 HQ processor, 16 GB RAM, and 4 GB Nvidia 1050Ti graphics card.
The game does run smoothly after the latest patch at ultra graphics settings but still, performance is not up to expectations. There are games like Total War or Battle for Middle-Earth that have more intense 3D battles and still perform better.
