Three years after the Pokemon Go, Niantic company released its augmented reality game Harry Potter Wizards Unite. Niantic has partnered with Warner Bros for this project. Harry Potter Wizards Unite was released on 21st June 2019 in the US, UK, and many other countries. It is launched in different countries, including India, Korea, New Zealand, etc.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is a real-world augmented reality (AR) game similar to Pokemon Go. Wizards Unite gameplay includes famous items, people, and creatures from the wizarding world of ‘Harry Potter’. Even it includes Daily Prophet newsstands!! For the ‘Potterheads’, this game is going to be closest to their heart.

The gameplay story comes with small parts as you progress. A calamity has befallen the wizarding world, causing Foundables – magical artifacts, creatures, people, and even memories – to mysteriously appear in the Muggle world.
As a recruit of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, you’ll work with witches and wizards from across the globe to solve the mystery of The Calamity and keep magic safe from Muggle’s eyes.
Those who have played Pokemon Go will realize that the format of Wizards Unite is so similar. You explore the real world with an overlay of an augmented colorful Wizard World.
The game opens with an agent of the Statute of Secrecy taskforce – Constance Pickering. She will be your guide. In the gameplay, as you step outside and explore the world, you have to hunt for the Foundables or Confoundables, the items of the Wizard world.
After an introduction and Harry’s talk, you will see Rubeus Hagrid, the half-giant, half-human from “Harry Potter” standing in front of you. Using AR, the game renders a version of him, big and tall, caught up in a spider’s web. Then you have to free him using a spell, which meant just swiping on the screen.
You trace the spells on the map and collect it. These Traces are found at various real-world locations and trigger richly detailed 3D encounters in full 360-degree advanced AR.
You need to cast a variety of spells to defeat the confounding magic surrounding the Foundables to safely return them to the wizarding world. You have to search for different ingredients to make different potions to keep up the spell energy.
Spell energy doesn’t restore over time. That’s really needed by many users. It’s easy to use quickly, and hard to fill up. There needs to be a way to restore it over time. There are so many things to collect. Sometimes, you may feel like inventory is not sufficient to hold them all.
You will have so much fun doing all these tasks. Niantic company has also added a multiplayer option in this game. So, you can enjoy Wizards Unite with your friends. You can gather together for bigger Wizarding Challenges and real-time cooperative multiplayer battles against dangerous enemies.
There are minor bugs in the game like location glitches, accuracy, but they will be fixed in upcoming updates. Overall, Harry Potter Wizards Unite is fun to play. Harry Potter movie fans and Potterheads gonna love this game.
