Tesla Model Y crossover electric SUV is more affordable!
Elon Musk’s long-awaited Tesla SUV model has been revealed to the public on 14th March. The event was at Tesla’s Design Studio in Hawthorne California. The reveal was similar to other Tesla events in the past. Tesla unveiled the Model Y crossover SUV in the presence of the Press, Tesla employees, and some faithful customers.
The automaker was able to transform Model 3 into a crossover with 7-seats and still up to 300 miles of range, which is impressive. Tesla is allowing buyers to place an order for Model Y with a $2,500 deposit.
Tesla officially announced a Model Y range of up to 300 miles for the compact electric SUV based on the Model 3 platform. The Model Y is a crossover/compact SUV version of the sedan. The Model Y design is similar to Model 3’s design.
Tesla Model Y has a total of 66 cubic feet (1.9 cubic meters) of storage space with 7-seats and features panoramic glass. Model Y has an impressive aerodynamic performance. On a single charge with the Long Range battery pack, the Model Y crossover SUV gives 300 miles range performance. It can go 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds only. It has a 0.23 drag coefficient.
Tesla Model Y SUV Standard Range price is starting from $39,000. The more expensive versions of Model Y with a bigger battery pack, dual motor, and higher performance are going to come first in Fall 2020. The price varies from $39,000 to $60,000 according to your configurations.
Tesla has already launched the Model Y online design studio. Interested buyers can place an order with a $2,500 deposit. The crossover is aimed at the growing part of the U.S. population favoring SUVs in recent years. The emergence of compact SUVs is a large part of the body style’s sales success, thanks to their lower price tag and fuel consumption.
