Six Special McLaren Roadsters Celebrate America’s Most Famous Hill Climb
McLaren Denver debuted a limited 600LT Spider Pikes Peak Edition with McLaren Special Operations (MSO) on Thursday, 25th July. The McLaren 600LT Spider collection is the automotive’s most extreme Sports Series and Pikes Peak in Colorado is the most extreme Hillclimb in the world. This combination is perfect for Colorado’s retailer, McLaren Denver.
The Pikes Peak Hillclimb is an American race event held every summer in Cascade, Colorado, near Colorado Springs. It is one of the most dangerous and exciting events in the world.
There are 6 roadster cars that come with one of MSO’s (McLaren Special Operations) Bespoke or Heritage exterior colors, matte black vinyl stripes, and interior embellishments.
The 6 shades include Volcano Red, Black Gold, Nerello Red, White Gold, Midas Grey, and Aurora Blue colors. The MSO (McLaren Special Operations) Club Sport Pack upgrades the outside with carbon fiber cantrails, carbon fiber front fender louvers, and titanium wheel bolts to affix the Satin Speedline Gold wheels.
Inside the 600LT Spider Pikes Peak Edition, there is a Satin Gold band on the steering wheel. Also, extended paddle shifters in Satin Gold are behind the wheel. There are lightweight carbon fiber racing seats taken from the McLaren Senna. The seats get contrast stitching Satin Gold color. The headrests are embroidered with the Pikes Peak logo in the same Satin Gold color. There is also a plaque reading which shows “Pikes Peak Collection 1 of 6”. It reminds the world of exclusivity!

The 600LT Spider Pikes Peak Edition has a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. It provides 592 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque and an identical 0-60mph acceleration of 2.8 seconds. This power is enough for charging up to 4267 meters of mountains on Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires.
In an environment where road-holding and braking would be especially important, the 600LT Spider upgrades its game with suspension bits from the 720S, carbon-ceramic brake discs, and lightweight calipers.
The chassis set-up of the 600LT features both the front and rear double wishbones and suspension uprights from the 720S, along with the rear toe-links. Latest-generation lightweight brake calipers, carbon-ceramic discs, and a McLaren Senna-inspired brake booster ensure precise pedal feel and a phenomenal stopping power: 124mph to a standstill in just 384ft. Bespoke Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires round out the track-focused dynamics and offer enhanced engagement.
Without compromising the dynamic purity of the most performance-focused car in the Sports Series line-up, the retractable hardtop adds a new dimension to the experience, offering both open-air driving, as well aural and visual excitement from the dramatically placed top-exit exhaust.
Offered in six distinct colors with a plethora of gold and matte black accents, the limited number Pikes Peak edition McLaren 600LT Spiders will definitely add a premium to the starting price of $256,500.
