OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro with Snapdragon 865, Wireless Charging!

The long-awaited OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones finally arrived on 14 April 2020. From the flagship killer, OnePlus is now heading towards becoming the flagship itself! Both smartphones will be available for sale from 29 April at 12 AM ET. Let’s check out what OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have to offer.

OnePlus 8 Vs OnePlus 8 Pro Specification & Features:

Design & Display:

The OnePlus 8 has a 6.55″ 90Hz fluid display, Full HD+ resolution 1080×2400 pixels AMOLED screen. The aspect ratio is 20:9. Both smartphones have a punch-hole for the front camera near the top-left corner of the screen.

OnePlus 8 Pro has a 6.78″ QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1440×3168 pixels AMOLED screen with a 6.78-inch QHD+ resolution display. The aspect ratio of the screen is 19.8:9. Both models come with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass on top.

Both phones have an in-display fingerprint sensor and face-lock system security. OnePlus 8 Pro features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. There is a punch hole for the front camera for both smartphones.

Audio Output:

These smartphones come with stereo speakers and a 3D listening experience with Dolby Atmos support. There is no 3.5mm audio jack.

Camera:

OnePlus 8 Camera: This smartphone has a 48MP triple camera. The primary camera includes a 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor, f/1.8, 25mm (wide), 1/2.0″, 0.8µm, OIS. The secondary lens has 16 MP, f/2.2 aperture. The third lens has 2 MP, f/2.4 aperture for microphotography. You can record 4K videos at 2160p@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps.

The front camera is 16 MP, f/2.0, wide-angle lens, with Auto HDR feature. You can shoot videos at 1080p@30fps.

OnePlus 8 Pro Camera: Pro model comes with a 48MP quad-camera setup. The setup includes the main camera 48 MP, f/1.8, omnidirectional PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS. Secondary hybrid zoom camera – 8 MP, f/2.4, a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Third ultrawide angle camera- 48 MP, f/2.2. Fourth color filter camera – 5 MP, f/2.4 for depth effects. You can record 4K videos at 2160p@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps.

The front camera for the OnePlus 8 Pro comes with 16 MP, f/2.5 aperture. You can record 1080p@30fps videos with the gyro-EIS system.

Processor & RAM:

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. Both smartphones are available in 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM variants.

Storage:

Both smartphones offer 128GB/256GB internal storage variants. The phones do not come with expandable storage.

Connectivity:

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro now support a 5G network connection. This means you can get network speed up to HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE-A (5CA) Cat18 1200/150 Mbps, 5G 7.5 Gbps DL. Both smartphones support WiFi 6.

Software:

OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro runs on Oxygen OS, and Android 10 software.

Battery:

OnePlus smartphones finally got wireless charging! The OnePlus 8 Pro supports Warp Charge 30T standard wireless charging. OnePlus 8 has a 4300 mAh battery while the OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a 4510 mAh battery. The onePlus 8 model does not support wireless charging.

Price and Color Options:

OnePlus 8 5G smartphone is available at price $699, ₹41,999, AU$1,096, £599. There are color options for the OnePlus 8 model. You can choose from Onyx Black, Glacial Green, and Interstellar Glow.

OnePlus 8 Pro price starts at $899, ₹54,999, AU$1,400, £720. You can choose Onyx Black, Glacial Green, and Ultramarine Blue color variants.
