Samsung has introduced a budget-friendly M-series with 2 smartphone models Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20. In both models, the Galaxy M20 is comparatively better in features. Samsung has now started the competition with Redmi, Xiaomi, Vivo which are popular for their budget smartphones in India.

Samsung Galaxy M20 Price and Release Date:

Samsung Galaxy M20 is available in two variants. Price of 3GB RAM+32GB storage variant is Rs 10,990 and 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant comes in Rs 12,990. It is available on the Amazon store from 5 February.

Design & Display:

Samsung Galaxy M20 has adopted a waterdrop notch and thin bezels style. It has an all-new design in the whole Samsung series. It comes with polycarbonate body material with glossy finishing. Galaxy M20 feels good to hold in hands and glossy finishing gives a smooth touch.

M20 has curved edges on all sides. It also comes with an oval shape fingerprint sensor on the backside. It is situated in the center and it is easy to reach. The weight of the Galaxy M20 is 180 grams because of its massive battery. The 5000mAh battery is the biggest talking point of this phone.

On the right side, there is a volume rocker, on the left side – there is a Sim Card Tray. While the bottom has a 3.5 audio jack, speakers, and USB Type-C port.

Samsung Galaxy M20 has 6.3-inch FHD+ display with 2340 x 1080p resolution. It is a Plane Line Switching TFT panel. The display is bright that you can use your phone easily outdoors. It is a sharp, rich color display with impressive viewing angles.

You can use the face-unlock feature in M20. It is fast and useful.


Samsung Galaxy M20 comes with 13MP (f/1.9 aperture) + 5MP (f/2.2 aperture) rear dual camera. The camera performance is good in daylight but it is just average in low-light conditions. You can get impressive shots in daylight. Colour reproduction, sharpness in images is good.

Galaxy M20 has an 8MP front camera. It is an average camera and gives decent photos. Camera smoothens the face which reduces so many details. The low-light performance of the front camera is not so good.

Interface & Performance:

Samsung has improved its mobile interface over the years. Samsung Experience (version 9.5 UX) is more modern and smoother. There are so many customization options in it. You can change icon packs, the icon size, the size of the grid, etc. Samsung has added some extra Samsung Apps, Google Apps, Microsoft Apps in it. You can uninstall them if you want, or simply disable them in settings.

Samsung Galaxy M20 comes with Exynos 7904 octa-core chipset with 3/4GB RAM, up to 512GB expandable memory. It gives an impressive performance. It can handle any apps and games you want to use. It can also handle up to 15 background apps. You can play PUBG on Galaxy M20. But still, it is second best for PUBG Mobile games after the Snapdragon 636 devices like Redmi Note 6 Pro.

After the POCO F1 Widevine L1 controversy, Samsung is not ignoring to add DRM support to every smartphone. So, you can enjoy streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime in Full HD. Galaxy M20 has an impressive, bright, and crisp 6.3-inch display to watch videos.

Galaxy M20 has a SAR rating of 0.248 W/kg which means it gives so less exposure to RF (radiofrequency). M20 features Dolby Atmos audio, which gives a theatre experience with headphones. It has also an aptX codec for wireless music playing via Bluetooth.

Samsung Galaxy M20 has a 5000mAh battery. The M20 supports adaptive fast-charging via USB Type-C and also comes with a 15W fast charger in the box. You can charge the phone 30% to 80% in 60 minutes.

Should You Buy Samsung Galaxy M20?

Samsung Galaxy M20 is one of the best budget smartphones which gives an impressive performance, massive battery life. Its cameras are above average. But still, in Rs 12,990, you get balanced features in M20. For young to elders, this phone is good to use. Overall, the M20 is a truly balanced smartphone that goes neck to neck with the best performing phone in the market right now.
