The Osmo Action offers a similar feature set to GoPro at a slightly lower price. It has a front-facing screen and better battery life, but GoPro might have a smoother user experience and a stronger ecosystem.
The Osmo Action’s front-facing screen and rock-solid stabilization make it a good vlogging option. However, its form factor might be less comfortable to hold for extended periods compared to a traditional vlog camera.
Pros: Rugged design, excellent stabilization, front-facing screen, good battery life. Cons: Lacks some GoPro features, slightly larger form factor, and the menu system can be less intuitive.
Yes, the Osmo Action is waterproof up to 11 meters (36 feet) without needing housing.
The Osmo Action can shoot 4K video at 60 fps and 1080p video at 240 fps for slow-motion effects.
Consider newer models first. If you find a good deal on the Osmo Action, it’s still a capable action camera, especially for those who prioritize a front-facing screen.
